Well, there's tons of stuff to talk about.  I've been meaning to update since Monday... so I've got a lot of ground to cover.

Before I start, I forgot to give a shout out to Q-Tip who gave me the Japanese text for the current comic (and made the text funny to boot!).  Also I should thank him for introducing me to Maple Story, which is likely to waste another small portion of my life.

Ubercon: Good and bad.  The drive down Friday was possibly one of the most painful experiences of my life.  By the time I had arrived I had a killer headache, and was in no mood to go to any panels, and yet I did anyway.  The following Saturday I felt much better, but still it was quite apparent to many that webcomics was not a popular theme at this con, despite the fact that it had a strong showing in webcomic talent.  Really for me, the best part of the con was just running into people that had been at Connecticon, including...

Brian Clevinger (who sold me some serious book)
Brian Carroll (the poster master)
Rob Balder (who can sing a lot better than I ever would have imagined)
Tim Buckley (did I win the X-Box yet?)
Mookie (who runs a top notch panel)
Aido (who makes the best stickers in the world)
Ian J (I think he wants to kill me with a Sharpie™)
Matt Daigle (did that guy ever get his bag back?)
Aaron Wood (how could I miss a comic convention in Nashua?!)

Also I got to meet for the first time Stephen Notley of Bob the Angry Flower and Pierre-Luc (currently of) ZeStuff.

Besides the cool people that were around tho, the con didn't do all that much for me.  I highly doubt I'll go again.

The best part of going to the con however, had to be the stuff I picked up.
I bought a copy of Nuklear Age at a slightly lower price (take that U.S. postal system!) and both awesome Instant Classic posters.  Also Tim hooked me up with some replacement Ctrl-Alt-Del posters (since I donated the one from Connecticon to my local LAN center Area51).  The piece de resistance however was this sticker that Aido made for me...

If you think that looks awesome, you should be checking out her comic Fallen right now.  I also picked up a "poring" sticker she made (to give Alyssa), and one of her Fallen posters, which are damn cool.

Then on Saturday evening I abandoned the con to go hang out in NYC with some friends from college to celebrate my friend Pete's birthday, which was very cool.  The only drawback of course, was being reminded how much more successful all my friends are in their careers (oh well, I'm working on it).  Oh and of course hearing all the stories about Pete humiliating me at multiplayer LAN games probably wasn't necessary either. >__<

So then on Sunday I arrived home, only to find out that two of our goldfish, McGill and Bulby, had either hurt themselves or gotten sick.  The last few days we've been trying everything to fix them up, and it seemed like they were getting better, until we came home today and found that Bulby was floating on the bottom of the tank... dead.  Now I know it might seem silly to many people, but we are very emotionally attached to our goldfish, and we were both almost at tears tonight.  Maybe because Bulby was a little more special than the others... he was our first fish (McGill is actually my sisters fish and Rocky has only been with us for a week or so).

Anyway, we're pretty bummed out about his death... because all and all I think we do a pretty darn good job of taking care of our dumb goldfish... but sometimes things happen that are beyond our control and we just can't do anything about it, so we have to say goodbye to Bulby, and just hope that the other fish don't have any similar problems.

So now, if you'll indulge me... a memorial haiku for Bulby.

Name: Fishicus "Bulby" Maximus
Species: Orange Ryukin Goldfish

He was slightly round,
full of energy and life.
Best fishie ever.

It's so embarassing, but writing that has made me close to tears again.  I know everyone else in the world would think that being emotional over a goldfish is pretty stupid, but I guess for Alyssa and I this fish meant a lot.  I'm sure at some point we'll get another orange ryukin, but for now we just want to make sure the other two fish are okay.

Well anyway, I think I'll wrap this rant up for tonight.  I have some wacky Ubercon related comics in the works along with Friday's "real" comic... and also my plan for this weekend is to get the entire site fully working with no broken links what-so-ever.  Once again I apologize for not having my act together.  Night!

This comic seemed funny when I wrote it during my lunch break today... but now, I'm not so sure.  Oh well, too late now!  The sad thing is that last panel with Basketcase and the monkey ninja looks pretty cool... and you don't even get to see it!  How very ironic (in no particular way).

So I'm going to Ubercon tomorrow afternoon, which should be interesting to say the least.  I decided to go completely at the last minute... which has been pretty weird, as I've spent the last few days harassing people to see if I could find some floor space to crash on.  Also this is my first gaming con, so it should be interesting... even tho I'll probably just spend all my time at the webcomic panels (some of which are run by this guy).  Oh and what's-his-face will be premiering his book thingie, which is pretty exciting!  And holy crap, I want to get some of these awesome posters!

Also I'd like to apologize for all the non-working site links.  I was hoping I'd have every page up by this weekend but of course I was wrong.  Don't worry tho, unlike the last site design I'll actually be doing it this time. >__<
