"That is a lie. I actually eat Honey Comb."

I am a failure this week as far as the comic goes. I apologize, I've just been a little stressed out working on other stuff and naturally the comic suffers. I am going to do a new strip tonight, and that is a promise. I need to quit slacking and get back on schedule.

One project I inexplicably found myself working on again this week is Inksandwich... which is not a bad thing at all, I really do want to get it rolling. Sometimes I just get in a webdesign/coding mood, and when I do I always like to take advantage of it.

The new Inksandwich site is now pretty much good to go, although I do need to write up a lot more content explaining it. Essentially it's a webcomics portal and community... and if you read a lot of webcomics, you should definetly check it out.

Now I wouldn't consider myself an impulsive person, but like most people I have my moments. Wednesday I had one of these moments... and well, I'm going to San Diego Comic-Con tomorrow. Turns out you can get some really nice deals on airfare at Priceline.com, and Hawk offered to let me share his hotel room, so I decided to do it. Of course I won't have a table or anything, I'll just be walking around, saying hi to people, scouting out the whole Comic-Con scene. My plan is to get a feel for the convention, so that next year I can go as an exhibitor (in a collaborative group most likely).

So... if you're going to be at Comic-Con and want to say hi, I'll be wandering around all day Saturday and Sunday, probably spending a lot of time near the webcomics quadrant. If you don't know what I look like, there's like a million bad photos of me on my Flickr gallery.

Normally I wouldn't expect anyone to actually hunt me down at one of these things, but this is the first comics convention I've ever done on the west coast, and it is like the biggest comics convention in the world, so there are bound to be a couple people who read the strip. >_>

So yeah, maybe I'll bring a few of the new prints along with me or something, and if you manage to find me I'll give you one. If you can track me down at a convention with over 100,000 people you definetly deserve it!

Leaving for Alyssa's family reunion riiiiiiight now.

I did forget to mention something last post, my wacky sister is visiting this week. We went and hung out at Hampton Beach last night... and as a result, even more wacky photoes.

BBL!

Back!

I think I've finally recovered from the last two weekends... sorry no comic on Monday, had to finish an article and work at the newspaper has not been kind this week.

So a lot of things to mention, lets see if I can remember to get them all in.

First up, ConnectiCon! It was a lot of fun. The convention gets bigger each year and never disappoints. The best part is all the webcomic artists that were able to attend... every year I get to see a lot of old friends, while meeting some new artists I've never met before. Usually I'd list out all the people I ran into here on the site, but there were so many this year I think I'm going to have to wait on that (maybe later this week).

Of course you can always check out these crazy fotoes!

So we finally got Scott out of the house. Had to burn the sheets, replace the couch, etc... but still his foul stink haunts us. At first I thought the smell was something from his native Canadia (like maple syrup or something), but now I know that it's the stench of failure... failure to beat me as Super Smash Bros! This smell will most likely live on for all time.

I've added two new cons to the convention schedule: OGC (gaming) and Another Anime Convention (anime). Both of these conventions are being held in my home town of Manchester, NH, and I'm more than happy to support these geeky conventions being held in our fair city. If you live close by be sure to check both of these out.

In video game news: this is the kind of stuff I like to hear. I can't wait for preorders to start.

In video blogging news: OMG Amanda left Rocketboom?! I thought she WAS Rocketboom...

Oh and I've had quite a few t-shirt orders come in in the last week or two, but I think I'm all caught up, so if you've sent a PayPal payment then your shirts are in the mail. Also I need to rearrange how I'm promoting stuff on the site... I want to put the shirts and stuff on the sidebar and then start selling the ad banner space like normal (instead of Google ads). Although I'm not really sure how it's going to work, if you have interest in advertising on the site, shoot me an email at shawn@staccatocomic.com and I'll try and get you some general details.

ConnectiCon starts in a few hours, so I really oughta be getting to sleep soon, but before I call it a night I wanted to get the store updated and show off the new stuff I'll have for sale this weekend!

I'll have two new prints on sale this weekend, one is a limited edition sorta... it's the artwork I did for one of the ConnectiCon badges this year (preview above). I'll have a couple of these (11"x14") and also a new 11"x17" Staccato print which looks way nicer than the old one:

I'm going through a new print shop in my area now, and these prints came out REALLY nice. Full bleed (ink all the way to the edges) and a real nice heavy paper. I can't wait to do a bunch more of these for future cons.

And as always I will have a ton of my geeky shirts on hand, including two brand new ones... "This Is My Axe" and "Nobody."

Along with these two, I'll also have "Blow Me," "This Is How I Roll," "Heartless,"
"Got Hi-Potion?," "Divine Inspiration" and a couple left over clearance shirts.

Of course even if you're not going to ConnectiCon, you can still pick up these nifty items through my store page (finally updated)! I'll probably have some direct pay Paypal buttons up soon to make things easier.

Oh yeah, so Scott has been hanging out here this week... which has been pretty fun. He is quickly becoming a master of the fine art of TiVo, which is too bad, because soon he'll have to go back to his analog Canadian TV. I tell ya, once you go TiVo you can't go back.

Hmm, so that's about it... time to get some sleep so I can actually drive down to Hartford tomorrow. Should be fun!
