The reports are in: I totally suck! Finally got a "finished" version of the above comic online (refresh if it's still showing the old one), but still I didn't even get it done the way I wanted.
Man, I really, REALLY want to get back on the ball with the update schedule, but after attending four conventions in a row, I am just stressed out. Despite how much I am looking forward to Otakon, part of me is also looking forward to it being OVER, because then I can go back to actually having normal weekends and maybe some free time.
But anyway, Otakon is this weekend and I am looking forward to it. It's the biggest convention I'm attending this year as a webcomic guest (although at Otakon webcomics are more like super-secret-pseudo-guests) and I'm going to have the shirts and some new prints (which I still need to finish up -_-;).
Oh and if I wasn't a wreck as it is, last week Alyssa and I (mostly me) decided to do this crazy 7-day diet thing where you basically just eat soup everyday. I have to admit, I'm losing pounds pretty fast, but at the same time such a huge diet change really messes with you. My stomach always seems to be churning as it processes the vegetable soup (which now repulses me), sometimes I have lots of energy and other times I feel light-headed, and of course my co-workers seem to have extra free chocolates on their desk this week. >_< Makes me wonder if I'd just be happier as a big fat guy.
People have already told me that this diet is pretty unhealthy, and in retrospect I'd have to agree, but really this is more like a jumpstart than anything. I am currently in the worst shape I've ever been, and if it takes something like this to get me back in the gym on a regular basis I think it's worth it. Sometimes you just get to the point where you feel like you have to do SOMETHING to kickstart things.
Well, I have more stuff to ramble about... but I'll save it for next time. I really want to get a new strip up Wed or Thurs so I will be ahead of my newspaper cycle for next week, so I can continue on then.
...God I want a candy bar. -_-;
Oh yeah, a quick note from Pierre of ZeStuff:
After a couple hours of fun (read: I rather die than do that again) networking work, we have finally solved an important routing problem with the server that hosts ZeStuff.
This problem affected a lot of people in Europe (France, UK, etc...) so if you've been unable to check ZeStuff in the last couple of days or weeks, give it a shot now as it should work.
If for some reason you're still unable to access the store, please email me at pierre AT cad-comic.com. Make sure to tell me where you're located and what ISP you are using. If you know how to do one, include a traceroute from your computer to the ZeStuff machine in your email.
Thanks to everyone!

Back from San Diego! Wow... just, wow. Words can hardly express the sheer bigness of Comic-Con, so instead I'll just make up words like bigness. Oh wait, bigness IS a word. Well anyway, the con was big.
How big was it? You should check out these photos. Only they can truly express the bigosity of the convention... and even then they only half get the point across in their depiction of the bigliness.
So yeah, I had a really fun time. Normally a comics convention means a working weekend for me, but because this was more of a "research trip" I got to spend the whole thing out from behind a table enjoying myself. I met quite a few artists for the first time, bought way more stuff (books/posters) than I should have, and made lots of valuable mental notes on how the convention works.
But really, the trip would not have been anywhere near as much fun if it wasn't for Ananth and Hawk, those two are just the nicest guys around. It's almost a shame that at Otakon I plan to kill them off and eat their brains to absorb their delicious talent. Mmm... brains.
Oh yeah... more conventions. OGC is this weekend, Otakon the next. To say I'm overextending myself the last few weeks would be an understatement, but I think things will work out (they always do!). Still, I need to get a ton of things ready for Otakon, seeing as it's the biggest con I have a table at this year.
As for the comic above, I think I'll finish it up tonight and then I'll have Thursday night to make Friday's... and maybe, just maybe, I can finally get back on track.

Again I have failed... I didn't get the comic done last night. But at the very least here is what I have so far. Now I have to catch my flight to San Diego.
I should have the finished version of the comic up on Tuesday morning. >_<

I am a failure this week as far as the comic goes. I apologize, I've just been a little stressed out working on other stuff and naturally the comic suffers. I am going to do a new strip tonight, and that is a promise. I need to quit slacking and get back on schedule.
One project I inexplicably found myself working on again this week is Inksandwich... which is not a bad thing at all, I really do want to get it rolling. Sometimes I just get in a webdesign/coding mood, and when I do I always like to take advantage of it.
The new Inksandwich site is now pretty much good to go, although I do need to write up a lot more content explaining it. Essentially it's a webcomics portal and community... and if you read a lot of webcomics, you should definetly check it out.
Now I wouldn't consider myself an impulsive person, but like most people I have my moments. Wednesday I had one of these moments... and well, I'm going to San Diego Comic-Con tomorrow. Turns out you can get some really nice deals on airfare at Priceline.com, and Hawk offered to let me share his hotel room, so I decided to do it. Of course I won't have a table or anything, I'll just be walking around, saying hi to people, scouting out the whole Comic-Con scene. My plan is to get a feel for the convention, so that next year I can go as an exhibitor (in a collaborative group most likely).
So... if you're going to be at Comic-Con and want to say hi, I'll be wandering around all day Saturday and Sunday, probably spending a lot of time near the webcomics quadrant. If you don't know what I look like, there's like a million bad photos of me on my Flickr gallery.
Normally I wouldn't expect anyone to actually hunt me down at one of these things, but this is the first comics convention I've ever done on the west coast, and it is like the biggest comics convention in the world, so there are bound to be a couple people who read the strip. >_>
So yeah, maybe I'll bring a few of the new prints along with me or something, and if you manage to find me I'll give you one. If you can track me down at a convention with over 100,000 people you definetly deserve it!
